It’s been an odd winter. Some of you have been doing your “spring clean-up” as early as February this year. As for the curbs and gutters in Fall Creek Place, they have yet to see a clean-up so we are asking you to come out on April 8th from 9am – noon to help make our neighborhood sparkle. We will supply the shovels, rakes, brooms, gloves and trash bags. We will also have some refreshments to keep you charged up to work. Please come out, even if it is just for an hour, to help clean up the leaves and trash left over from the winter. We are looking forward to meeting new neighbors and seeing familiar faces!
- Meet at the park on the corner of 23rd and Alabama on April 8th.
- Clean-up: 9am to Noon
- Trash truck: Noon – 2:30pm (need 8-12 volunteers to toss trash bags into the back of the truck)
- Volunteer picnic lunch hosted at/by Shoefly: Noon – 3pm – MUST RSVP
- Wheelbarrows: to help haul the heavy bags to the corners
- Trash bags: we never get enough from KIB so any extras would be wonderful

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, better places to live. Together, we are making that happen.
National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community and provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.
Neighborhoods across the nation host block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts and other various community events with safety demonstrations, seminars, youth events, visits from emergency personnel and exhibits
Talbott St. will be blocked off from 22nd St. to 24th St. Families from throughout the neighborhood are welcome to bring a picnic or join a family who lives on the street to grill out and play yard games. We hope to have some organized events, music and food. Shoefly always offers us use of their additional outdoor space and the kids parade is a huge hit. Please contact management if you are interested in helping to plan the event for 2016. email@example.com
Weather: Partly cloudy and high 50s, no rain in the forecast.
We will be meeting at the Park on the corner of 23rd and Alabama to distribute tools, gloves and trash bags. Refreshments will be available throughout the clean-up. There will be door prizes, so please come to the park to sign-in and qualify.
Our focus will be cleaning up the curbs of the leaves and trash left behind from the winter’s snow and rain. We will ONLY be picking up trash bags that are left on the corners between 22nd and 25th and Pennsylvania and College. They MUST be there by noon otherwise they will not be picked up. You will have to dispose of bags on your own if you can’t carry them to the street corners by noon. If you can’t lift the bag without it breaking then we can’t either. Please be cautious of how full you make your bags. We need to be able to lift them into the trash trucks.
There will be a buffet lunch at Shoefly Public House at noon if you would like to attend after the clean-up. We are also looking for volunteers to help throw the trash bags from the street corners into the trash truck from 12 – 1pm. We will need roughly 8-12 volunteers for this. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in helping.
