Neighborhood Living Downtown living puts you just minutes from Indy’s best arts and theater, restaurants, shopping, sporting venues, museums and nightlife. Mass Ave is a 5 minute drive or leisurely walk down the road. Work Downtown? You've got a 5-10 minute commute to the Mile Square, IUPUI and Methodist Hospital. Fall Creek Place is also centrally located only 15-20 minutes from regional shopping destinations like Castleton Square Mall, Keystone at the Crossing and Southport (not to mention Indianapolis International Airport). But for some things, you don't need to go anywhere. The neighborhood has a growing business community that includes several fast food restaurants, convenience retail, and new shops (an organic market, salon, and fitness training) owned and operated by neighborhood residents. The neighborhood is right on Fall Creek Parkway, which can whisk you northeast to Binford Boulevard and Interstate 69 or Keystone Avenue in minutes. It is also a mile north of Interstates 65 and 70, providing quick and convenient access to the regional Interstate system. Cars aren’t the only way to get around in Fall Creek Place. IndyGo bus routes on Meridian Street, Pennsylvania Street, Delaware Street, Central Avenue and College Avenue can take you to any place in the city. And don’t forget bicycles—you’re only blocks from the Monon Trail! Don’t fit into the suburban mould? Fall Creek Place residents are as diverse as the houses they live in. The wide variety of home prices and housing type means there’s a place for everyone. Parks are where children play, where families gather together and friendships are formed, and where you stay connected to each other and to nature. Parks are essential to creating a community where residents can interact with one another and keep in touch with familiar faces. Fall Creek Place has four neighborhood parks and is just a short block or two from the Monon and Fall Creek trails that connect riders and pedestrians to the extensive Indy Greenways system. Fall Creek Place is a neighborhood, not a subdivision. Its’ neighbors know one another and an active Homeowners Association sponsors frequent neighborhood meetings and social events, including an annual neighborhood sale, neighborhood cleanups, a July 4th Block Party, and a book club, parents club and dining club. A neighborhood newsletter keeps you informed on what’s going on, and neighbors can participate in an active website. The neighborhood is served by Indianapolis Public Schools as well as numerous private and parochial schools, including the Oaks Academy, located in the neighborhood, and Herron High School, located a few blocks south. Going to school yourself? Ivy Tech, IUPUI, the University of Indianapolis and more are just minutes away. Although an urban neighborhood, violent crime is virtually unheard of in the neighborhood (a far cry from those “Dodge City” days just a few years ago). An active crimewatch program keeps neighbors connected and informed on the crime that does occur, and the neighborhood works in close communication with police. Have more questions about what its like living in Fall Creek Place? Talk to the neighbors who live here! Take a walk down our streets in the evenings on a nice day and chat with homeowners strolling along the sidewalk with their dogs or sitting with neighbors on their porch. They’ll be happy to tell you “how it is”. You’re also welcome to register on the Homeowners’ Association website and ask questions in the (sometimes lively) discussion forums.
