FCP Garden District Adopt-A-Spot

Fall Creek Place Garden District Adopt-A-Spot Program
Fall Creek Place has one of the most complete investments of public garden infrastructure in the city.  This "garden district" includes obvious large-scale elements like our gateway monuments and public parks, but also includes our unique planted "bump-outs" along our major streets as well as the decorative paving at many pedestrian intersections.  It is up to neighborhood residents to maintain these unique elements that help define our neighborhood's character.

Adopt-A-Spot Elements
These items are available for adoption by you!
Basic Volunteer Duties
Parks
The four neighborhood parks receive general professional maintenance provided by the HOA (for neighborhood-owned parks) and Indy Parks (for Kessler Park and the Fall Creek greenway), but need some extra care to keep them looking great.
Pick up litter
Spray/pull weeds in brick and sidewalks.
Sweep/pick up any broken glass on sidewalks and in grass.
Report light outages immediately to IPL at 261-8111.
Report graffiti or vandalism immediately to crimewatch@fallcreekplace.com.
Gateway Monuments
Our neighborhood has 9 gateway plantings, seven of which have a monument.  These signature gateways are maintained entirely by volunteers.
Pick up litter
Spray/pull weeds in planting beds and surrounding brick.
Sweep sand, dirt and glass from surrounding brick.
Report graffiti or vandalism immediately to crimewatch@fallcreekplace.com.

Adjacent-Neighbor Maintained Elements
These items are generally maintained by the neighbors who live next to them.
Basic Volunteer Duties
Decorative Brick Paving
Many sidewalks have decorative brick paving at street intersections.  To keep this brick in top shape, and to maximize its' lifespan, neighbors are encouraged to periodically give these areas some care.
Sweep up sand, dirt and glass.
Spray/pull weeds in brick joints.
Tree Bump-Outs
These planted bump-outs line Pennsylvania St, Delaware St and Central Avenue and are highly unique to our neighborhood.  Neighbors should routinely keep these areas maintained.
Mow, fertilize and overseed grass when needed.
Mulch any trees and planting beds.
Spray/pull weeds from mulched areas.
Pick up litter.
Bus Shelter
We currently only have one bus shelter located at 25th/Delaware.  Neighbors are encouraged to keep shelters looking great.
Pick up litter.
Report graffiti or vandalism immediately to crimewatch@fallcreekplace.com.
